Timberline Lodge is the only ski area located in North America open year round, and it is one of Oregon’s most popular tourist destinations. Ski Lift to Excitement

There are nine lift total, with five being high-speed quads. Two lifts offer night time skiing. There is plenty of room for everyone, with a total of 1,415 acres of skiable terrain. Uphill capacity per hour is 9,869 people. Having 3,690 vertical feet of terrain, with a summertime vertical drop of 2,616 feet. There are a total of forty-one trails, ranging from beginner to advance. With 25% being devoted to a beginner, 50% to intermediate, and 25% to advanced. Everyone is sure to find a trail they are able to enjoy. Operation through summer months takes place from the Palmer Lift, sitting at an elevation of 8,540 feet and Mt. Hood’s highest lift. The longest run averages three miles.

Family Enjoyment

Timberline Lodge is a family favorite with many activities to enjoy both at the lodge and off. Families enjoy a day of swimming all year round at 6,000 feet. Their swimming pool is heated and outdoors. Mt. Hood wilderness leaves so much for a family to enjoy. Pack up the family for a day of backpacking, horseback riding, and picnicking, fly fishing, mountain biking, or mountaineering. Although Timberline Lodge itself does not have campgrounds, there are some pleasant ones nearby to take the family for a night to expand your family’s experience, before returning to the Lodge to finish out your vacation.

Great Place to Dine

There are restaurants inside Timberline Lodge for guests to enjoy or if they prefer they can dine nearby. While dining in the Lodge, your family can take a nice break from their day of recreation by kicking back and enjoying some seasonal fare. Enjoy the wondrous Mountain View from floor to ceiling windows at their Ram’s Head Bar, located in the Timberline Lodge second floor circular balcony. While there, be sure not to forget to grab some world-famous Timberline hot cocoa!
